The 2009 Louis Braille Bicentennial silver dollar commemorative proof coin comes in the original government packaging (including a velvet display, box, and outer sleeve), with a certificate of authenticity.

This coin was minted to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille, the developer of the Braille system of reading and writing. The obverse has a likeness of Louis Braille, and the reverse shows a child reading a Braille book and has the word "Braille" written in Braille above.

The coin was produced at the Philadelphia mint and has a "P" mint mark. The specified weight is 26.73 grams with a composition of 90% silver / 10% copper.
